Gateshead Football Club today announced a continuation of the long term sponsorship by Team Valley based vehicle component manufacturer, Sevcon.
The company's logo will feature on the back of the team's home and away shirts during next season's Blue Square Bet Premier League campaign.
Sevcon, a world leader in the supply of motor controls for electric vehicles, has supported Gateshead for the last four seasons and is delighted to continue its association with the club in 2011/12.
Sevcon's Chief Financial Officer, Paul Farquhar, said: "We're looking forward to building on our successful relationship with Gateshead Football Club and wish them every success for the forthcoming season as they aim for promotion to the Football League."
"As a local business, it's fantastic to see our home town club doing so well. Gateshead is an ambitious club and that really appeals to us. We hope that Sevcon's sponsorship can play a part in helping the team achieve success next season."
Sevcon has been based in Gateshead since 1961 with its headquarters in Team Valley and the company has designed and manufactured motor controls for companies such as Toyota, Ford, Nissan, Peugeot and Hyundai for a range of on and off road, zero emission, electric vehicles.
Gateshead Chairman, Graham Wood, said: "Sevcon's sponsorship is not directed at advertising their product line. Instead it's a gesture by the company to invest in the community through the town's football club."
"Sevcon's support over the last four season's has been superb and has helped us through two promotions. Naturally, I hope we can repay the company's continuing support with further success on the pitch."
The new replica kits will be on sale on the North concourse at the International Stadium between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday).
